Backed by an aggressive marketing campaign and an equally powerful affiliate program, Builderall came onto the scene branded as an alternative to the hugely successful ClickFunnels and a platform that provided an all-in-one “business in a box” solution.
If you’ve been living under a stone this last couple of years, then Builderall is a suite of cloud-based products including a web builder, mailing list manager, presentation and social media tools.
In reality, the exposure and growth of the platform were riding the wave of a perceived money-making opportunity rather than anything mind-blowingly good about the software. An army of affiliates promoted that message far and wide. The lucrative affiliate program was driving the growth rather than the software.
It’s Game Over for Affiliates Promoting Builderall As a “Bizopp”
Well, the Builderall “Bizopp” party is finally over. Founder and CEO Erick Salgado is pivoting the whole marketing strategy away from using the affiliate program as a vehicle of growth in favour of promoting the actual software platform as a business solution.
We don’t know if Erick’s hand has been forced or if it’s a natural point in the evolution of Builderall. In any event, it’s time for Builderall to stand on its own two feet as a software suite.
At AfMA, we’re not convinced that Builderall stacks up well against the competition when judging it from a software perspective. Yes, we are aware that a new version of Builderall is coming soon and we’ll review that on its merits upon release.
Until then, let’s take a look at some of the best alternatives. Not all of the solutions we are checking out have precisely the same features as Builderall, but there is an overlap.
The Best Alternatives to Builderall
The Best Alternatives to Builderall (in no particular order) are:
All four of these alternatives include Sales Funnel functionality and a top affiliate program.
ClickFunnels was born in 2014 from creator Russell Brunson and proliferated to a $360 million business. Brunson is widely regarded as a marketing genius.
The ClickFunnels selling point is enabling people to grow their companies through sales funnels. Namely, getting everything you need to market, sell, and deliver your products and services online through a clearly defined process.
The ClickFunnels templates and sales funnel processes are cleaner and easier to put together than the cumbersome Builderall equivalent. One of the most significant advantages is how the sales funnel process is clearly defined.
ClickFunnels lays out the whole sales funnel and gives you a process to run your business. The software has underpinned many successful companies across the web. For instance, Lifestyle guru Tony Robbins uses ClickFunnels as a pillar of his multi-million dollar business.
ClickFunnels Affiliate Program
Like Builderall, ClickFunnels offers a highly lucrative affiliate program. The commissions offered are higher than those provided by Builderall. A standard 40% Commission on purchases made from affiliate referrals is on offer.
Now, if you bear in mind that subscription plans range from $97 to $297 each month (recurring), then it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you can build a sizeable regular income as a ClickFunnels affiliate.
In addition to the main subscription plans, there are other products to promote such as courses, books and webinars.
By the way, ClickFunnels are currently offering a 14-day free trial where you can check out all the features of the software. The trial membership includes access to some of the best internet marketing training you’re likely to find. Also, you get automatically enrolled in their lucrative affiliate program. It may be a trial, but it gives you full access to everything ClickFunnels has to offer.
Even if you have no intention of using ClickFunnels as a software platform, then we’d still recommend enrolling purely to get access to the training. ClickFunnels Founder, Russell Brunson didn’t earn his label as an internet marketing genius without merit.
Older readers might remember GetResponse started life in 1999 as a mailing list management and autoresponder platform. Along with AWeber and MailChimp, it was one of the original “Big 3” mailing list management solutions.
There are dozens of mailing list providers around now, and this has led to a pivot by GetResponse to diversify into the lucrative business of landing pages, sales funnels and marketing automation.
If you haven’t checked out GetResponse in a while, then you might be pleasantly surprised by how far the product offerings from the company have evolved. Of course, it remains a leader in mailing list management but the platform has a lot of other shiny new tools to offer.
GetResponse was founded in 1999 by Simon Grabowski and is one of the market leaders in the field. It is a strong, well-established brand with over 350,000 customers.
The packages vary with different options available depending on the user requirements.
The Pro Package is probably the closest match to the Builderall Business offering with a range of components including landing page builders, sales automation, customer relationship management tools and mailing list software.
A brand new Autofunnel feature allows you to build out a sales funnel with much of the heavy lifting already done.
The Customer Relationship Management Tool is pretty weak but this is something that Builderall didn’t offer.
All in all, there is a lot on offer for the value of the subscription.
GetResponse Affiliate Program
The GetResponse Affiliate Program is one of the best in the business. It provides a 33% commission, and this is recurring income. As long as one of your referrals remains a GetResponse subscriber, then you will pick up a monthly commission.
A superb array of promotional tools are available for affiliates to promote the platform. They include a Free 90 Day Email Marketing Course, Banners, Links, Webinars, Videos and more.
Instapage is a landing page experience platform for marketing and converting leads to buyers. The platform has over 200 templates, with the focus on landing pages.
The company was founded by current CEO Tyson Quick in 2012 and now boasts over 15,000 customers.
The templates are superior to anything that Builderall has to offer, but the suite does not include a native mailing list management component. However, It is easily integrated with major third party tools.
Instapage Affiliate Program
The Affiliate Program offers a generous 50% revenue share on the first payment and 30% lifetime revenue share on all self-serve plans.
The Core plan for a customer is $99 per month, billed annually ($1,188) which returns a $594 affiliate commission and subsequent 30% commissions on future renewals.
LeadPages is a platform for creating landing pages (also known as lead pages or squeeze pages) to increase conversion rates from web traffic.
Launched in January 2013 by Entrepreneur Clay Collins, the platform is now a market leader. The software doesn’t include mailing list management as a core component but can be integrated with leading providers.
LeadPages Affiliate Program
Affiliate commissions for Leadpages are 30% recurring as long as the user remains a subscriber to the platform. Moreover, the developers have added a full website builder to go along with landing pages, pop-ups, alert bars, and opt-in texts.
There are group coaching opportunities and most courses are free to members
What Next For Builderall?
Builderall has a launch scheduled for the next major version of the platform coming up in mid-2019. We like Erick Salgado’s focus on pivoting the Builderall marketing machine toward the platform as a business solution rather than the affiliate Bizopp.
Hopefully, the platform improvements will be enough to keep Builderall as a player in the game.
We look forward to the new Builderall release. Up until the time comes when platform is released and established as a credible solution, we’d suggest focusing on some of the alternatives we’ve outlined.
